A Teaser from the Aurora Borealis

After dinner we headed out about 21:45 back to a spot opposite the Glacier Lagoon which we'd reconnoitred yesterday.  It was very cold and the wind was blowing strongly but we managed to find a spot with a little shelter so we set up our tripods and waited.

It wasn't long before there was a feint glow in the sky and the excitement began to build.  However as you can see from the photos it was a huge anti climax (especially for Colin who was seeing them for the first time).

Unfortunately given the weather forecast I think this may be our one and only showing.
