Overnight snow was heavy but we were still up pre-dawn to
get to the beach for (hopefully) a sunrise.
The church in Vik is famous and is photographed by just about everyone
who visits the place and quite rightly, as it sits on a hill just outside the
town. I think I’m right in saying that
most churches here are Lutheran and most seem to be of exactly the same design.
I was lucky as a few minutes after taking that shot, the lights were turned off.
The weather this morning was just as challenging. Turning 180 deg from the church and the
light/colour changes completely. I
quite like the blue of pre-dawn on a cloudy day but may twiddle with it later.
Once again Jo is sitting down, she seems impervious to the cold and/or wet and kindly provides a focal point.
After breakfast and a brief shopping trip to the supermarket
(expensive) and an Icelandic Knitwear etc. shop (off the scale expensive) we
drove up on to the cliffs for a different viewpoint and the snow continued on
an off for most of the afternoon.
For sunset we were heading back to the beach we’d visited on
arrival (with the Fulmar) but I stopped just before it at this lovely lake for sunset.
