More Vik and some Waterfalls

Once again we were up at pre-dawn to chase the light.  Although I love photography, landscapes are not really my forte and sometimes I struggle to "see" a picture, so revisiting the same location can be a little tedious on occasions.  Fortunately today that wasn't the case and we were back up on the headland near the lighthouse.

The sunrise was behind the Stacks and it was very hazy looking towards them.

But once again, turn 180deg, and the view over the lake to the mountains was wonderful.

I remain fascinated by snow on black beaches and the power of the waves.

After breakfast we headed west to Skogafoss Waterfall which was rather impressive but very busy.

And then to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall which I believe you can actually walk behind; however, the spray had frozen and it was sheet black ice on the paths, although looked very pretty on the grass.

Poor Jo fell quite hard and badly bruised her hand, I went up to help her and had to hold onto a rope just to stay upright - none of us had thought to put on our crampons!!  Needless to say, we didn't spend very long there and sat in the bus waiting for Rob to finish

After a lovely dinner out at a little restuarant we headed back towards Vik.  A few snaps from the bus window which unfortunately has tinted windows so the colours are a bit strange.

There was a chance of seeing the aurora so we stopped off on the way home and waited for a while.

My attempt a "blue hour" photography (not very successful)

The best we saw.
